The entertainment fraternity in Kenya is in deep mourning following the sudden death of popular DJ and hype man Astroid Hypekid.
Astroid, whose real name was Vincent Nyaga, died just two days after Christmas under circumstances that are still unclear.
His unexpected death has raised many questions and sparked public concern, especially within the nightlife and entertainment industry.
Reports suggest that Astroid was involved in an altercation at Klub Q West in Kahawa West shortly before his collapse.
Fellow entertainer DJ Devonte alleged that the confrontation involved a staff member at the club, and that Astroid's partner was employed there.
According to Devonte, the entertainer was pushed into a glass window during the dispute, leading to severe injuries. He was rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, where doctors later declared him brain-dead.
Concerns have continued to grow after claims that statements issued by the nightclub's management differ from what some eyewitnesses reported. These contradictions have fueled calls for a thorough and transparent investigation.
More than a week after his death, no arrests have been made, raising further questions about accountability.
Astroid's family is now demanding clear answers. They want to know what triggered the altercation, who was involved, and why justice seems delayed.
As they prepare to lay their loved one to rest, the family and the wider entertainment fraternity are united in calling for truth, justice, and responsibility over the tragic loss of a rising star.
