In the entertainment industry, fame can disappear very quickly. Many actors become popular for a short time and then slowly fade from the spotlight.
New shows appear, new actors enter the industry, and audiences move on. Because of this, staying relevant for many years is very rare.
One person who has managed to do this is Sarah Hassan.
Many Kenyans first knew her from the popular TV show Tahidi High. During that time, she was already a household name.
Her role on the show made her very famous, and she had a strong fan base across the country.
For many actors, reaching that level of popularity would be the biggest goal in their careers.
However, Sarah Hassan made a surprising decision. At the peak of her fame, she chose to step away from the spotlight.
Instead of continuing to enjoy the attention and fame in Kenya, she decided to move to Los Angeles in the United States to study film and acting.
It was a very risky move. She left behind a successful career with no guarantee that things would work out.
In Los Angeles, she focused on improving her skills and learning more about the craft of acting.
Years later, when she returned to Kenya, many people noticed the difference. Her acting had become stronger, deeper, and more professional.
She showed this growth in different productions, including the TV drama Zora, where she once again captured the attention of viewers.
Her success continued with the Showmax series Crime and Justice. The show proved that Kenyan productions can reach international standards.
Her performance was widely praised and even earned her an award at the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards.
