Celebrated Kenyan singer and actress Sanaipei Tande has sparked widespread debate online after openly declaring that marriage is not a must and that she has no problem dating a broke man.

Speaking during a quickfire session with an online content creator, the 40-year-old musician said that getting married is a personal choice — not an obligation.

Sanaipei, who has remained single and focused on her career, revealed that she is in no rush to settle down, adding that societal pressure should not dictate one's life choices.

Addressing the topic of relationships, the former Kiss TV and Classic 105 presenter surprised many when she admitted that she would have no issue dating a man who is financially struggling.

"There's nothing wrong with a man being broke. It's something that can change anytime, so yes, I can give a broke man a chance," she said.

Her remarks quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans. While some praised her for being open-minded and independent, others argued that her views challenge traditional expectations of women in relationships.

Sanaipei Tande — known for hits like Amina, Kwetu, and Ankula Huu — has built a reputation as one of Kenya's most talented and grounded female artists, admired for her authenticity and outspoken nature.
