He was once the king of the "White Party," but Sean "Diddy" Combs is now finding a different kind of success within the drab walls of a federal penitentiary.
The disgraced music mogul has seen his projected release date moved up by approximately six weeks, with updated Federal Bureau of Prisons records as of March 2026 confirming he is now eyeing an April 25, 2028 exit.
The shift marks a stunning turnaround for the 56-year-old, whose time at the low-security FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey has been a rollercoaster of "hooch" scandals and disciplinary setbacks
Diddy's journey behind bars has been anything but smooth. After beginning his 50-month sentence in October 2025, his initial release date of May 8, 2028, was sensationally pushed back to June 4, 2028.
The delay was reportedly triggered by a string of rule violations, including allegations that the "I'll Be Missing You" singer was caught in possession of "homemade alcohol"—or prison hooch—and had been making unauthorized three-way phone calls.
However, it appears the mogul has traded the "monkey business" for self-improvement.
Insiders reveal the new April date is largely attributed to his participation in the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and standard "good conduct" credits. Participation in the rigorous program can shave significant time off a federal inmate's sentence.
Despite the six-week "gift" from the Bureau of Prisons, Diddy's high-powered legal team isn't satisfied.
As of mid-March 2026, his lawyers have filed a provocative new appeal seeking his "immediate release." The defense argues that the 50-month stretch is "disproportionately harsh" for his specific convictions.
