Once the face of humble beginnings in Kibra, Stevo Simple Boy has officially declared that his days as a struggling artiste are over.
The Kenyan rapper, real name Stephen Otieno Adera, shocked netizens after unveiling a premium rate card that positions him among the country's top-earning entertainers.
In a series of Instagram posts on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Stevo revealed that he now charges Ksh 500,000 for a single live performance.
He justified the hike by pointing to a dramatic increase in his personal valuation. According to Stevo, his net worth was just Ksh 100,000 in September 2025 but has since skyrocketed to Ksh 10 million as of January 2026.
With this new wealth, he is clearly moving away from his previous image as an affordable, relatable performer.
Stevo's updated rate card also includes a Ksh 300,000 fee for simple event appearances and Ksh 50,000 for any media interview, whether on radio, television, or online platforms.
"Mwaka jana mwezi wa tisa net worth yangu ilikuwa Ksh 100,000; as of Jan my net worth ilikuwa milioni 10 za Kenya na inaongezeka kila uchao," he wrote, sparking widespread discussion on social media.
Perhaps most controversially, the rapper introduced a Ksh 500 fee for fans who want to take photos with him — a move rarely seen in the local music industry.
While critics argue this could alienate the "common man" followers who supported his rise, Stevo appears confident in his new millionaire status and independent brand.
The bold strategy comes as he continues to rebrand himself as an independent mogul under his own management.
"Kwa hayo mafupi kunihitaji kwa event appearance pekee napandisha rate card to Ksh 300,000 na performance 500,000 kwenda juu.
Media interview iwe radio, TV ama online media: Ksh 50,000 per interview. Picha na mashabiki nahitaji angalau Ksh 500," he summed up, signaling a new era in his career.
