Kenyan comedian and media personality Oga Obinna has once again drawn attention online after it emerged that his son, Luironne, is now studying at the prestigious Nairobi School.

The revelation came months after Obinna publicly expressed disappointment with the placement his son received following the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA). Despite performing well in the exams, the boy had initially been admitted to a school in Gatundu, a move that left the comedian questioning the placement system.

Unhappy with the outcome, Obinna turned to his fans online and asked for recommendations of better schools closer to his Nairobi home where his son could continue with his studies. Eventually, the family settled on Nairobi School after a photo surfaced showing Luironne proudly wearing the institution's uniform.

Nairobi School is among the most prestigious national boys' schools in Kenya. Located in Kitisuru along Waiyaki Way, the institution has built a reputation for strong academic performance, discipline and producing influential alumni over the decades.

The school was established in 1931 and has grown into one of the country's leading learning institutions. It offers modern facilities, structured boarding life and a wide range of co curricular activities including sports, debate, drama and clubs that help nurture well rounded students.

In recent years, Nairobi School has continued to post impressive academic results. In the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education exams, the school recorded a mean grade of 9.537, showing an improvement from the previous year's results.

Over the years, the institution has produced several notable figures including Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and renowned Kenyan-born British musician Roger Whittaker.

For Obinna, enrolling his son in such a respected institution marks a significant step in ensuring the boy receives quality education and opportunities for a bright future.
