Kenyan gospel musician Emmy Kosgei has stirred strong reactions after speaking out about what she sees as serious hypocrisy among some church leaders in Nairobi.
She says that a number of well known pastors do not live the same life they preach to their followers. Her comments have started wide discussion among Christians and the public.
According to her, claims some pastors who teach strict moral behavior during church services are said to be living very different private lives.
She suggests that certain leaders who warn believers against drinking alcohol are themselves seen in bars and nightclubs.
She also raises concern that some of these pastors are reportedly spending time in such places with women who are members of their own churches.
These accusations have shocked many people who look up to church leaders as examples of faith and discipline.
Her message focuses on the need for honesty and true spiritual leadership. She believes church leaders should practice what they teach and remember that many people trust and follow their guidance.
When leaders fail to live by their own words,it can weaken people's faith and damage the image of the church in society.
The issue has also reopened debate about accountability in religious institutions.
Many believers are now calling for stronger moral standards and transparency from those in leadership positions.
Others say that accusations should be handled carefully and fairly to avoid harming reputations without proof.
This situation highlights the growing demand for integrity in spiritual leadership,as followers expect actions to match sermons in everyday life.
