Sharing a TBT photo on her Instagram page just minutes ago, the award-winning artist opened up about one of the darkest chapters of her life the year 2007, when she says everything around her seemed to fall apart.
In 2007, I was young and energetic but lost. My marriage had dissolved, my dreams were shattered, my children were taken away, and I was left homeless, jobless, and without friends. Even my own mother didn't know where I was or what was happening to me. If I had given up and committed suicide, no one would have known I came this way," she wrote.
The candid confession has touched many of her followers, who flooded the comment section with messages of encouragement and admiration for her resilience. Akothee's story is not new to her fans she has often spoken about her humble beginnings and the struggles she faced before rising to fame but each time, her honesty and strength continue to inspire thousands.
Now one of Kenya's most successful entertainers and businesswomen, Akothee uses her platform to remind others that pain can be a stepping stone to purpose.
